DIAMOND CERTIFICATION
Diamond certificates provide the key details of a diamond and are the best means to obtain an unbiased review of the stone. All diamond certifications are not created equally: GIA and AGS are the labs with the strictest grading standards. EGL USA and IGI are well-respected labs with slightly less strict grading. EGL International (no affiliation to EGL USA) has significantly less strict grading and caution should be exercised when purchasing these stones.
Our GIA Gemologists can provide advice on understanding a diamond’s certificate and choosing a stone with the best balance of carat, cut, color and clarity.

HYSTR CERTIFICATION GUIDANCE
Every new loose diamond HYSTR sells is certified by a trusted grading laboratory. HYSTR recommends carefully reviewing a diamond certification prior to making a purchase.
As a rule of thumb, HYSTR expects that GIA and AGS diamonds will be an exact match to the color and clarity stated on the certificate. EGL USA and IGI diamonds are often one color and one clarity lower (by GIA standards). For example, an F color, VS2 clarity by EGL USA or IGI would likely be a G color, SI1 clarity by GIA standards.
HYSTR’s GIA Gemologists review every diamond sold to ensure it matches the certificate. If a diamond does not match the certificate for any reason, the buyer is immediately refunded.
